The Thrilling High-Altitude Roller Skating Camp At Ling shed


Introduction:

Picture a group of enthusiastic students, their laughter echoing through the picturesque mountains of the Himalayas as they glide on roller skates at an astonishing altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level. This incredible adventure became a reality for the students of Ling shed High School, Thanks to Tibetan Development Fund, Belgium(TDF) financially supported for the project of roller skate training at Lingshed . And especially thanks to the Headmaster, teacher’s warden, and staff of Ling shed high school. Who gave us permission to conduct a one-week camp. In this blog, we will explore the high-altitude roller-skating camp held in Ling shed and the transformative experiences it provided for these young participants.


Wheels in motion:

Ling shed high school Nestled amidst the awe-inspiring landscapes of southwest of the Sham region,

the remote village of Ling shed served as the perfect backdrop for this roller-skating training camp. Which is 250km far away from its Headquarters and it comes under district administration.

It is situated at 4000mtrs above sea level, surrounded by towing snowed-capped peaks and vast open space, the students are immersed in the natural beauty of Ling shed throughout their roller-skating journey.

Collaboration:

The success of this exceptional camp was attributed to the seamless collaboration with Tibetan development Fund, Belgium (TDF) and Singela Partners. The Instructor was brought from Ladakh Roller Skate Association, a prominent organization promoting roller skating in the Ladakh region, played a pivotal role in the camp. With their expertise in roller skating and their commitment to fostering young talent, the association provided coaching, and guidance to ensure a safe and enriching experience for the students. From the basic of balance and coordination to advanced techniques of speed and agility, the students were introduced to the fundamental skill of roller skating.

Through patient guidance and encouragement, they gradually gained confidence and proficiency on their skates.


Role of Shri Sonam Dorjai:

The invaluable support of Shri Sonam Dorjai, was the driving force behind the success of this training camp. His passion for empowering the young people of Trans Singela region (SINGELALOK). with his unwavering commitment, provided all the necessary equipment, resources, and financial support. This incredible adventure became a reality for the students of Ling shed high school.




Embracing Challenges:

Organizing a Roller-Skating Camp at remote area is quite challenging due to the long distance from the main city in transportation. We have to transport everything which is required during this camp. However, these challenges served as valuable life lessons for the organizers, teaching us the importance of perseverance and teamwork.


Impact and Future Prospects:


The Roller Skate training camp left a lasting impact on the students of Ling shed high school. It ignited a passion for roller skating, instilled discipline, and promoted an active and healthy lifestyle. The newfound skills and confidence gained during the camp will undoubtedly have a positive influence on their personal and academic lives.


Furthermore, this initiative has opened doors for future collaborations in the promotion of sports activities such as football, marathon, ice-hockey, roller-skating etc. in the Lingshed region. It has shed light on the immense talent and potential of the students of Ling shed.


We are looking for future support and investment in their growth and empowerment. Any kind of contribution can bring a great change. Roller skating at such a high altitude presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities for the students. It was the first time for them.



Conclusion:

The Roller-skating camp held in Ling shed for the students of Ling shed High School was a remarkable endeavor that brought joy, growth, to the participants. Through the unwavering support of Shri Sonam Dorjai and Tibetan Development Fund Belgium.


The students not only honed their skating skills but also embraced the challenges posed by the high altitude, gaining valuable life experiences along the way. This camp will undoubtedly remain etched in their memories as a transformative journey that pushed their boundaries and allowed them to connect the beauty of both nature and human endeavor.
